Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in technical revenue accounting and financial reporting. Public accounting experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of ASC 606 and practical application in a SaaS/hardware company with complex customer arrangements.
  • Experience supporting public company audits and SOX compliance.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally, communicate complex concepts clearly, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and proactive with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in researching and resolving complex technical accounting issues in compliance with US GAAP and adoption of new accounting standards and pronouncements.
  • Support the end-to-end technical accounting review of complex customer arrangements and newly introduced products under ASC 606.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed revenue recognition memos and whitepapers for internal and external audit support.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to assess new and non-standard arrangements and identify accounting implications prior to execution.
  • Collaborate with FP&A to align revenue reporting with internal forecasts and external guidance.
  • Monitor Axon’s revenue disclosures and related SEC filings to assist in ensuring disclosures are accurate and complete.
  • Monitor evolving accounting guidance and proactively assess impact to the company’s policies and procedures.
  • Train and mentor team members on technical revenue topics and help shape scalable processes as the company grows globally.
  • Contribute to the preparation and review of SEC filings – most notably revenue-related footnotes, MD&A disclosures, and additional technical disclosure areas applicable for Forms 10-K and 10-Q.
  • Help improve and document accounting procedures, internal policies, and control frameworks.
  • Perform additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Public accounting experience strongly preferred.
