Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in Civil/Structural or Site Engineering.
  • 4 years of experience in supporting technical due diligence for data center projects, including the review and evaluation of third-party sites.
  • 4 years of experience in collaborating with cross-discipline teams (structural, civil, IT/Telecom, security, mechanical, architectural) within a project environment.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of the time as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Review and assist in the evaluation of third-party data center sites, ensuring technical compliance and adherence to Google’s standards.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of detailed design documents for third-party data center sites, ensuring accuracy, compliance with requirements, and developing Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM) analyses for optimal performance.
  • Support executive level engineering by compiling documentation for presentations and contracts, assist operations with day-to-day documentation inquiries, and contribute to organizing and improving program standards.
  • Collaborate with the team to identify and implement opportunities for optimization and improvement of standard engineering programs for Technical Due Diligence.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree.
  • Experience in process for mission critical facility systems.
  • Experience in bidding, designing, operating, and commissioning large capacity cooling systems, including a strong understanding of the sequence of operation and control strategies.
  • Experience with electrical distribution systems from high voltage (HV) transformers to branch circuits and familiarity with mission-critical infrastructure systems.
