Requirements
- Bachelor’s in related field preferred, or equivalent work experience preferred
- Minimum 5 years of software development experience in delivering software products in an agile software development methodology
- Minimum of 2 years leading technical teams
- Must have experience overseeing multiple development teams from 3 – 8 team members
- Must be effective and efficient in identifying and proposing creative, innovative solutions to complex, time-critical challenges
- Must possess excellent situational awareness and an ability to remain calm under pressure and be cognizant of how you are perceived
- Attention to details is a must
- Must be experienced with Java and Javascript
- Database performance, SQL, and schema management is required
Responsibilities
- Possess market understanding of potential new technologies, opportunities, or growth
- Hands-on experience with proactive, passionate improvement of software development process and practices to optimize business value delivery
- Drive accountability across other team members to execute on time, drive consistency with the team, and ensure disciplined execution of desired outcomes
- Drive accountability with vendors to supply data required for actionable outcomes
- Set the technical standards and patterns for the team to follow
- Serve as a servant leader allowing team members to contribute ideas, while providing the guiding architectural decisions of the team
- Coach the team on engineering practices – CI/CD, pairing, testing practices, automation, etc.
- Assist product owners with technology roadmaps and technical debt management
- Provide technical leadership that is driving the design or technical deliverables of the team
- Maintain product subject matter expertise
- Lead technical discussions from concept through design completion with the team, customer, vendors, peer teams, and architecture
- Understand and have the ability to build automated deployment pipelines
- Responsible for technical configuration, design, administration, development, implementation and support of application and information frameworks
- Leverage fluency in technical languages, micro services, and APIs
- Demonstrate proficiency in system information dependencies and end to end application transaction competency
- Maintain platform or system health and availability requirements including HADR testing
- Monitor and manage proactive maintenance to application platform environments
- Resolve support issues involving production systems, manage technical issues across team, while driving root cause for production related issues
- Leads and participates in the development of policies and procedures
- Work on or leads complex projects of large scope
- Acts as a mentor to less experienced colleagues
