Requirements
- High School (HS)/GED or 1 year customer service experience in a virtual environment leveraging internet, phone, and chat features industry
- To serve as a physical damage arbitrator, with a minimum of three years of claims adjusting experience is required
- 3+ years of claims experience
- 1+ year physical damage experience
- Possesses demonstrated technical knowledge and skills reflective of successful progression through job family levels, inclusive of auto-body repair practices and procedures
- Strong and effective negotiation skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills
- Basic math and working computer skills with technical aptitude to utilize a variety of software applications
- Good alternative ways to prepare and defend arbitrations
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a flexible, changing environment
- Ability to work independently, be self-motivated and goal oriented
- Proficient in ability to write estimates in computerized estimating systems
- Knowledge of auto repair estimates and various estimating systems
- Depending on assignment, may be required to obtain and maintain Adjuster and/or Appraiser license (state-specific)
- Insurance Adjuster License and/or Insurance Appraiser License depending on state
Responsibilities
- Reviews and evaluates previously approved estimates from adverse carriers
- Independently evaluates, negotiates and settles physical damage and total loss claims along with other suffixes (i.e. loss of use, property damage)
- Negotiates and settles Diminution of Value claims with third party claimant or their attorney
- Process payments appropriately and review with supervision beyond settlement authority
- Respond to arbitrations that are filed by adverse carriers regarding physical damage and/or liability only claims
- Handle arbitration cross-application as needed
- Research laws and statutes to include with arbitration contentions
- Crafts/writes detailed arguments in a manner most accurately affirming desired outcome/decision via electronic media
- Responsible for hearing Property Damage and/or Liability Arbitrations
