Requirements
- BS/MS in computer science (or equivalent)
- Demonstrated advanced understanding of troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, application design, solution development, human factors/usability design, and implementation of projects for major business units or the enterprise
- Minimum 8 years professional development environment
- Strong foundation in programming fundamentals such as data structures and algorithms
- Ability to develop new and innovative applications as well as maintaining existing code
- Demonstrated full-mobile stack development experience with mobile native clients, SDKs, and APIs (Swift/UIKit, iOS platforms)
- Demonstrated expert knowledge of software development methodologies, practices, and architecture, specifically experience architecting performant, scalable, and secure mobile apps
- Hands-on experience with mobile DevOps CI/CD tools and implementing best practices, including automation of deployment, code signing tools and automated tests. Preferred familiarity with Git and Bitrise
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with technical and non-technical cross-functional teams
- Experience building flexible software architecture to accommodate shifting business needs
Responsibilities
- Architect and build intuitive, simple and elegantly designed mobile apps that people want to use
- Provide support and development of software tools and procedures to extend and enhance the core production pipeline
- Evangelizes, models, and oversees implementation of good software development practices. Work across multiple teams to drive technical solutions and influence decisions and outcomes. Manages dependencies and sets priorities for within their respective function. You play a leadership role in your area using your expertise to influence software design and development in more than one team
- Work across multiple teams to drive technical solutions and influence decisions and outcomes. Independently defines and drives work to completion to meet relatively well-defined business, product, or large service needs, responsible for integration of services
- Coach and mentor up to Staff level and provide input to leadership on development needs and growth opportunities for team members. Models an inclusive and supportive engineering culture
- Ensure software development follows industry best practices, policies and guidelines. Specifically, ensuring that technical solutions are in line with established CNN Digital strategy, standards in respect to architecture, security, corporate governance, coding standards, monitoring, logging, unit test, and service enablement
- Creates functional level impact. Work across multiple teams to drive technical solutions and influence decisions and outcomes. Independently defines and drives work to completion to meet relatively well-defined business, product, or large service needs, responsible for integration of services. Considered an expert technical resource within at least one major domain, and has detailed working knowledge of all domains relative to a single team’s work
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Cloud Computing platforms such as Amazon AWS
- General familiarity with database technologies (SQL/RDBMS, NoSQL, GraphDB, etc.)
- Experience with JavaScript
