Requirements
- Registered Nurse | North Dakota Board of Nursing (NDBON) or Compact State Agreement | Prior to Start Date | HR Primary Sources
- Registered Nurse | Minnesota Board of Nursing | Within 12 Months of Start Date | HR Primary Sources
- Basic Life Support (BLS) | American Heart Association (AHA) | Within 90 days of Start Date | Learning Management System
- Driver’s License with Acceptable Driving Record | Drivers License – Current State Licensed | Prior to Start Date | HR Primary Sources
- A minimum of 1 year Related Experience
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English
Responsibilities
- Provides care which is appropriate to the patient’s diagnoses, symptoms, and physician orders. Directs and oversees care provided by Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and aides.
- Establishes and implements a documented plan of care. Determines appropriate outcomes/goals.
- Communicates and collaborates with the patient, interdisciplinary team, and physicians in providing care.
- Promotes patient/caregiver education using various verbal and written communication techniques that take into account the patient’s/caregiver’s cultural, ethnic, and personal needs or preferences.
- Documents patient/caregiver responses to care, treatment, and services, including progress towards goals.
- Identifies discharge planning needs as early as possible and initiates needed referrals to other disciplines, alternative level of care, or community resources as needed.
- Complies with Joint Commission, federal and state regulations, reimbursement guidelines, and Altru and Altru Home Services policies and procedures.
- Performs pain assessment and takes appropriate action according to standard operating procedure.
- Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Temporary RN license accepted prior to start.
- Must hold an unencumbered nursing license prior to start.
- If Minnesota license was issued prior to 2018, must complete MN Background study with HR Compliance.
