Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (aerospace, electrical, mechanical, or related discipline)
- A minimum of 2+ years of experience in Systems Engineering activities, including Requirements and Verification & Validation development, planning and execution
- Demonstrated analytical skills including critical thinking and innovative approaches
- Must have strong verbal communications skills with the ability to speak boldly, clearly, and concisely in groups to communicate important information in a multi-disciplinary team
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills
- Have demonstrated the ability to interact with multi-disciplinary teams
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with little supervision
- Must be a highly responsible, team-oriented individual with strong work ethic
- Must have highly developed coordination and organization skills
- Result oriented personality with a creative approach to problem solving
- Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position
Responsibilities
- Support the development of technical requirements (both internal and external)
- Perform and manage requirements functional decomposition, allocation, and traceability
- Participate and contribute to system requirements reviews, preliminary design reviews and critical design reviews
- Plan and implement verification and validation (V&V) strategy, including implementation practices and processes
- Develop and support requirement and verification data packages to support architecture requirements, design, verification/validation, and operations
- Work closely with NASA to integrate joint verification activities with the International Space Station
- Establish and oversee verification requirements for subsystems and suppliers as part of the integrated V&V plan
- Collaborate with system and subsystem engineers, program office personnel and customers for Requirements and V&V planning, scheduling, and execution
- Prepare technical documentation and presentations for peers, management, and external customers and partners
- Perform other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- A background in space systems engineering including an understanding of space vehicle design, space system architecture development, and space missions and operations development is desired
- Detailed knowledge of spaceflight subsystems and functions is desired, preferably human spaceflight related experience
- Experience with JAMA or other requirements management tool is desired
- Familiarity with Project Management and Design cycle processes, e.g., PDR, CDR, SAR
