Requirements
- Intern must be an undergraduate currently enrolled in a college or university
- Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
- Knowledge of IT infrastructure and other technologies
- Knowledge of data warehouse practices, methodologies, and governance
- Knowledge of dimensional modeling
- Knowledge of data quality concepts
- Knowledge of business intelligence systems including analytics tools used for reporting and dashboards, foundational data warehouse management, data governance, business process improvement, and change management
- Knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, Python, and DAX
- Skill in maintaining effective and appropriate working relationships
- Skill in performing a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature
- Skill in analysis and troubleshooting
- Ability to meet schedules and deadlines of the work
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Ability to work independently with minimum direction
- Ability to write technical documentation
Responsibilities
- Supports business intelligence operations and decision support systems through integrating and analyzing enterprise data sets across systems
- Assist with data collection, cleaning, and preprocessing to ensure data quality and accuracy
- Create visualizations, dashboards, and reports to communicate insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Perform data analysis using Excel, SQL, Python, R, or other analytics tools to identify key trends and patterns
- Collaborate with team members to understand business goals and translate them into analytical requirements
- Participate in business requirements gathering and documentation
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to improve analytical processes
- Help with ad-hoc data-related projects as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a Microsoft SQL Server environment
- Experience working with Business Intelligence tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik
- Familiarity with API development practices, including RESTful design, versioning, and basic authentication principles
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university leading towards a Bachelor’s degree with major course work in a related field of study specific to the departmental and/or work assignment
