Requirements

  • Intern must be an undergraduate currently enrolled in a college or university
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure and other technologies
  • Knowledge of data warehouse practices, methodologies, and governance
  • Knowledge of dimensional modeling
  • Knowledge of data quality concepts
  • Knowledge of business intelligence systems including analytics tools used for reporting and dashboards, foundational data warehouse management, data governance, business process improvement, and change management
  • Knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, Python, and DAX
  • Skill in maintaining effective and appropriate working relationships
  • Skill in performing a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature
  • Skill in analysis and troubleshooting
  • Ability to meet schedules and deadlines of the work
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to work independently with minimum direction
  • Ability to write technical documentation

Responsibilities

  • Supports business intelligence operations and decision support systems through integrating and analyzing enterprise data sets across systems
  • Assist with data collection, cleaning, and preprocessing to ensure data quality and accuracy
  • Create visualizations, dashboards, and reports to communicate insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Perform data analysis using Excel, SQL, Python, R, or other analytics tools to identify key trends and patterns
  • Collaborate with team members to understand business goals and translate them into analytical requirements
  • Participate in business requirements gathering and documentation
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to improve analytical processes
  • Help with ad-hoc data-related projects as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a Microsoft SQL Server environment
  • Experience working with Business Intelligence tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik
  • Familiarity with API development practices, including RESTful design, versioning, and basic authentication principles
  • Current enrollment in an accredited college or university leading towards a Bachelor’s degree with major course work in a related field of study specific to the departmental and/or work assignment
