Requirements

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and five (5) years of experience as a Mixed Signal or Electrical Engineer or related occupation performing system on module/PCB development.
  • Demonstrated expertise (DE) participating in all phases of new mixed signal product development (architecture selection, debugging, implementation, evaluation, and documentation).
  • DE conducting customer visits addressing customer issues with analog and mixed signal products and gathering feedback to understand customer needs for product or system solution improvement.
  • DE designing precision analog signal chains, including experience with low-noise circuit design, signal conditioning, error budget and high-accuracy data acquisition systems.
  • DE providing technical training sessions at conferences on analog and mixed signal product/solution technology and the usability of the precision signal chain solution, including amplifiers, ADCs, DACs, reference voltage and power circuits.
  • DE simulating and evaluating complex technical analog blocks and PCB designs using SPICE-type simulation tools.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal experts across technology groups to develop industry leading system solutions.
  • Engage with customers to analyze instrumentation product challenges and propose and develop technology to resolve challenges for products, including in the instrumentation market.
  • Perform analog and mixed signal circuit analysis, design, simulation, verification, and evaluation supporting the design of mixed-signal products and the successful integration of design blocks into larger mixed-signal systems.
  • Drive the product development lifecycle, including defining product requirements, executing circuit design, identifying issues, and recommending solutions.
  • Apply formal design and verification techniques, tools, and methodologies to produce efficient designs which meet specified functional, power, or timing objectives.
  • Function as the solutions lead and lead analog or digital designer for projects and perform board floor planning to guide PCB layout engineers during physical implementation.
  • Evaluate the physical implementation of design blocks by layout engineers to ensure physical design meets design, performance, and reliability metrics.
  • Perform lab evaluation and debugging of performance issues of PCB circuits.
  • Derive block level performance targets from higher-level design specifications.
  • Work with cross functional team and project planning teams to define project goals, feasibility and timelines.
  • Drive follow-up on quality issues involving customer returns, QA failures, and test coverage issues.
  • Document and present design and evaluation review documentation for peer review or before stakeholder groups.
  • Provide technical expertise and mentor junior engineers.
