Requirements

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience and a Bachelor of Science degree in image science, remote sensing, earth science, physical science, engineering, or similar engineering/science field.
  • Strong Experience with SAR, IR, Spectral, LIDAR, ArcGIS, RSI ENVI, and photogrammetry.
  • Experience in applied image processing and scientific analysis of imagery (SAR, IR, Spectral, Lidar, photogrammetry), knowledge of image formation, and associated discipline phenomenology.
  • Experience in scientifically processing imagery (SAR, IR, Spectral, Lidar) from Civil and Commercial imaging systems, proficiency with techniques, algorithms, and scientific analysis of associated discipline data processing using RSI ENVI.
  • Experience with GOTS applications such as FSTK and AGITK.
  • Ability to work in a very dynamic and demanding work environment.
  • Must be a self-starter, able to operate with little guidance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide imagery scientist support through accomplishment of technical reviews, consultations, oversight of proposed and executed GEOINT product quality assessments and studies, and strategic level product quality direction.
  • Provide image processing algorithm validation and verification in support of GEOINT product quality assessments or ad hoc customer requests.
  • Provide imagery science services and analysis in support of GEOINT product quality assessments for the full range of traditional and non-traditional imaging systems, products, and data formats; sensor fidelity assessment, pixel registration assessment, Tonal Transfer Curve assessments, Relative Edge Response assessment, MTF and Signal to Noise Ratio assessment, and other product quality parameters.
  • Support algorithm development in support of imagery science tasks and assessment of various product quality parameters.
  • Provide photogrammetric services and engineering in support of the full range of traditional and non-traditional imaging systems and products; assessment of product geolocation accuracy using verified geolocation of a known features, verifying mensuration accuracy through measurement of known objects, calculating ground sample distance, and other photogrammetric analyses as directed.
  • Provide imagery analyst support through technical review, consultation, and oversight of proposed and executed product quality assessments and studies, and strategic level product quality direction.
  • Provide imagery analyst services in support of GEOINT product quality assessment planning, execution, and results analysis; imagery review, artifact analysis, NIIRS evaluations (absolute NIIRS, delta NIIRS, and ENS NIIRS evaluations), display performance assessments, etc.
