Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree

Responsibilities

  • Provide visible safety leadership and actively contribute to creating, implementing, and continuous improvement of a strong, sustainable safety culture in partnership with the EHS Manager.
  • Provide leadership to monitor key metrics, KPIs and develop action plans achieve equipment utilization, cost attainment, quality, delivery, budget and manpower goals.
  • Ensure staffing composition and skills to meet operational, reliable, customer, and financial objectives.
  • Assist in preparing resource forecasts and providing input to longer-term work plans.
  • Drive Carrier Excellence principles.
  • Focus team on continuously seeking opportunity for improvement.
  • Support, encourage, and facilitate Kaizen events to ensure related countermeasures are implemented on time and are effective improvement projects.
  • Live, promote and teach the Carrier Way philosophy and recruit talented employees, participate in workforce and development planning efforts, establish clear expectations, and effectively manage performance.
  • Provide training, coaching, and oversight and drive employee engagement.
  • Comply with local and national labor laws and legislations to minimize labor disruptions.
  • Maintain a continuous presence in the work environment and remove barriers as needed.
  • Develop a strong partnership with operations and plant leadership staff to build a solid cross functional support relationship to achieve overall factory goals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience within a unionized, manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication skills; candidate must be comfortable providing briefings at all levels of management and interacting with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to influence decisions downstream and upstream.
  • Solid understanding of lean principles to effectively create, implement and monitor process improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent project management skills and the ability to effectively lead and team with multiple functional groups to reach a common objective.
  • Strong business acumen.
