Requirements
- Previously worked as a Direct Support Professional
- Completed all required training
- Demonstrated all the knowledge, skills, and accountabilities of a DSP Level 3
- BA/BS Degree in Psychology or Human Services OR Enrolled in 4-year degree in Psychology or Human Services field
- Experience working within the field of I/DD
- Exceptional interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills
- Must demonstrate clinical skills
- Willing to take initiative
- Highly flexible to varied work schedule
- Experience in computer skills and ability to teach others
- Strong writing ability
- Must demonstrate assertiveness/leadership skills
Responsibilities
- To provide direct care services as needed, including direct counseling, implementation of treatment plans, and assistance with personal care and other needs within the program.
- To train staff using the EMOE training system, ensuring proper implementation of clinical interventions and providing feedback.
- To role model the use of person-centered philosophy and tools.
- To develop written, individualized habilitative plans based on individual needs.
- To conduct behavioral and habilitative assessments under the supervision of the BIS.
- To design effective data collection systems for monitoring progress.
- To monitor data collection and ensure accessibility of new data sheets to staff.
- To oversee the completion of required paperwork, including monthlies and Person-Centered materials.
- To provide appropriate supervision to ensure individual health and safety.
- To train new staff in Level 1 competencies.
- Be a Resource to staff by providing clinical support in absence of the BIS/Supervisor.
