Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, system engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
- 2+ years of direct manufacturing and manufacturing engineering experience.
- Skilled in engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing.
- Knowledgeable in hardware manufacturing (i.e. additively manufactured components, welding, machining, cleaning, non-destructive testing methods, tight tolerance assembly, leak testing, final acceptance testing of integrated hardware, and Manufacturing Execution Systems/Software).
- Understanding of fundamentals for developing/starting new manufacturing processes.
- Strong written, personal, technical, and software skills (CAD, Scheduling, Issue Tracking, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
- Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the entire design, manufacturing and test cycle of rapid prototypes, mechanical components and subsystems, including conceptual and detailed design, trade studies, development testing and qualification for a wide range of development hardware.
- Select raw materials and manufacturing processes.
- Plan and optimize manufacturing processes to ensure products are produced efficiently, cost-effectively, and with high quality standards.
- Evaluate quality control processes and make recommendations for improvements in quality control.
- Analyze production processes, schedules, methods and other data and then provide reports containing the data and statistics to enable better understand of future requirements needed for the manufacturing process.
- Analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency.
- Coordinate equipment maintenance and repair services and make sure that manufacturer’s procedures and instructions are followed to keep equipment operational.
- Implement new technologies.
- Collaborate with other engineers to maintain quality control and meet production targets.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Creo (Pro/E) Wildfire 5 or greater, Windchill 10.
- Experience in tooling design and development in a manufacturing environment.
- Material selection, compatibility, and manufacturing techniques.
- Experience with rapid development techniques for hardware.
- Experience with developing, writing and updating test procedures.
- Experience with optimization and DOE methods as applied to design, analysis, and testing.
