Requirements
- 3+ years of experience servicing pensions and/or government entities, or other institutions in a wealth management or investment consulting capacity
- Experience and knowledge in investment/ wealth management platforms and vehicles, including managed account platforms, mutual funds, ETFs, separate accounts, and alternative investments.
- Experience and knowledge in global capital markets, technical expertise across asset classes.
- Firm understanding of portfolio management concepts including modern portfolio theory, asset allocation, portfolio construction, manager selection, risk management and performance attribution.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
- Must be very detail-oriented, with an ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities.
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Proactive & hard working with strong professional accountability
- Exemplary verbal and written communication skills
- Undergraduate degree is required
- FINRA Series 7 and 66 (or 63 and 65) licenses required or willingness to obtain within 180 days of hire (additional licensing may be required)
Responsibilities
- Help Senior Portfolio Managers build and manage client portfolios, which includes development of the investment policy statement, customized portfolio construction, manager selection, portfolio implementation, ongoing portfolio rebalances and periodic client reviews and updates
- Engage with clients to perform client discovery, draft investment policy statements, provide quarterly reporting, and other tasks relevant to the OCIO space
- Maintain ongoing and proactive monitoring of account positioning
- Gain full functional knowledge of Morgan Stanley’s proprietary portfolio management tools
- Participate in OCIO meetings and calls and get full understanding of OCIO market strategy and portfolio positioning.
- Help Senior Portfolio Managers develop portfolios and market content for finals presentations
- Manage outflows, inflows on accounts and make sure that capital calls on the illiquid side of the portfolios are matched
- Interface and support the connectivity with internal and external partners including research, trading, operations, product specialists, third party vendors and custodians
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate degree, CFA, CAIA and other professional designations are preferred.
