Requirements

  • Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D in the US) or vocational/ technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. Collins Aerospace will not offer sponsorship for this position.
  • Must be able to read and interpret drawings, blueprints and/or specifications
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English

Responsibilities

  • Inspect a variety of incoming products using precision measurement tools such as micrometers, gauges, and calipers, applying proper inspection techniques.
  • Interpret and apply Quality policies, procedures, blueprints, and technical documentation to verify product compliance.
  • Perform receiving inspections on manufactured goods received from suppliers to ensure conformance to design and contractual requirements.
  • Utilize computer systems (e.g., Via Search, JD Edwards, One World, Engineering Information System) to document and complete inspection tasks.
  • Verify accuracy and completeness of all accompanying product documentation.
  • Conduct visual and physical inspections of units, subassemblies, and materials for defects or nonconformities.
  • Perform and document First Article Inspections (FAI) in accordance with industry standards.
  • Manage and organize inspection files and administrative records related to quality control.
  • Support product audits and quality reviews as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior Aerospace industry or similar regulated industry experience (e.g. Medical)
  • Familiarity with AS9102 First Article Inspection requirements
  • Experience with SAP
  • Computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work under stress.
  • Ability and flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Able to lift up to 25 pounds, employees will utilize a lift assist or buddy system if greater than 25 pounds.
