Requirements
- Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry or Biological Sciences in the field of mass spectrometry
- Candidates with a MS degree and 4+ years, or BS degree and 7+ years of relevant experience will also be considered.
- Experience conducting mass spectrometry and proteomics experiments, including sample preparation and optimization, mass spectrometer operation and maintenance, and data interpretation and analysis.
- Experience with Thermo and Waters instruments.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills, as demonstrated through high impact scientific publications and presentations.
Responsibilities
- Perform LC-MS based assays including peptide mapping, intact mass, native mass spectrometry, proteomics, hydrogen deuterium exchange (HDX) and host cell protein analysis or oligonucleotides or polysaccharide characterization for vaccines programs.
- Represent the mass spectrometry group in project teams.
- Author technical reports and scientific presentations.
- Explore and develop new technologies applicable to our field.
- Perform data processing with Genedata or other biopharma data interpretation software.
- Demonstrate effective multitasking, prioritization and problem-solving skills in the planning and execution of experiments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experienced in hydrogen deuterium exchange (HDX)
- Familiarity with electronic laboratory notebook applications and good documentation practices.
- Good understanding of vaccines development.
- Familiarity with Genedata or other biopharma MS software.
- Experience characterizing vaccines or recombinant proteins.
- Experience with protein conjugation, oligonucleotides, or polysaccharide characterization.
- Familiarity with R programming language for data processing, statistics and visualization.
