Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry or Biological Sciences in the field of mass spectrometry
  • Candidates with a MS degree and 4+ years, or BS degree and 7+ years of relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Experience conducting mass spectrometry and proteomics experiments, including sample preparation and optimization, mass spectrometer operation and maintenance, and data interpretation and analysis.
  • Experience with Thermo and Waters instruments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, as demonstrated through high impact scientific publications and presentations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform LC-MS based assays including peptide mapping, intact mass, native mass spectrometry, proteomics, hydrogen deuterium exchange (HDX) and host cell protein analysis or oligonucleotides or polysaccharide characterization for vaccines programs.
  • Represent the mass spectrometry group in project teams.
  • Author technical reports and scientific presentations.
  • Explore and develop new technologies applicable to our field.
  • Perform data processing with Genedata or other biopharma data interpretation software.
  • Demonstrate effective multitasking, prioritization and problem-solving skills in the planning and execution of experiments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experienced in hydrogen deuterium exchange (HDX)
  • Familiarity with electronic laboratory notebook applications and good documentation practices.
  • Good understanding of vaccines development.
  • Familiarity with Genedata or other biopharma MS software.
  • Experience characterizing vaccines or recombinant proteins.
  • Experience with protein conjugation, oligonucleotides, or polysaccharide characterization.
  • Familiarity with R programming language for data processing, statistics and visualization.
