Requirements
- Bachelor’s: exercise physiology or related field or equivalent education/experience
- BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology, chemistry, and physics
- In-depth knowledge of exercise testing, exercise equipment and quality control
- Critical thinking skills
- Decisive judgment
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to perform multiple tasks and prioritize independently
- Ability to supervise exercise for people with chronic disease and disabling conditions
- Ability to respond appropriately to emergency situations
Responsibilities
- Assessing the safety of all patients while undergoing cardiac stress testing
- Monitoring patient’s vitals and symptoms during exercise treadmill testing and pharmacologic stress testing
- Communicating effectively with healthcare professionals through the electronic medical record
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years experience in an outpatient care setting, performing exercise procedures on patients
- 2 years experience in applying principles of exercise physiology for fitness acquisition, utilizing effective instructional educational techniques, clinical protocol development and interdisciplinary team processes
