Requirements
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in School Counseling
- State of Oklahoma Teacher’s Certificate or qualifications to meet certification
- Certification in Counseling from the Oklahoma Department of Education
Responsibilities
- Promotes student success and provides preventive services
- Implements a comprehensive developmental school counseling program
- Develops and manages a comprehensive school counseling program for all students (PK-12th)
- Develops curriculum focusing on Personal/Social Domains
- Designs, delivers, evaluates, and revises developmentally appropriate programs
- Counsels with students to promote self-awareness, self-identity, and positive social and academic skills
- Manages activities that establish, maintain, support, and enhance the total school counseling system
- Plans/coordinates programs that are an extension of the counseling program
Preferred Qualifications
- Expressive and receptive sign language skills with fluency in American Sign Language
- Counseling experience
