Requirements

  • B.S. (with 3-6 years experience) or M.S (with 2-4 years experience) with an emphasis in Immunology, Cell biology, Molecular biology or related field
  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Solid understanding of immunology, monoclonal antibody therapeutics, Fc effector function, antibody/protein binding kinetics, flow cytometry, cell imaging techniques and parasitology

Responsibilities

  • Design, conduct and interpret data from cell-based effector function assays (CDC, ADCP and ADCC) for veterinary species of interest
  • Design, conduct and interpret data from antibody/protein binding kinetic assays using SPR, mainly Biacore
  • Design and development of cell-based assays using cell imaging techniques
  • Design and development of whole blood flow cytometry assays
  • Design and development of cell-based assays supporting heartworm target projects
  • Collaborate with and support research teams, CROs and project teams for successful completion of cell-based and SPR assays
  • Record experiments and data appropriately and author technical reports
  • Keep abreast of relevant new technologies & relevant literature
  • Ensure work activities are aligned with data acquisition, notebook entry and EHS requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive experience with cell culture of both cell lines and primary cells, with a strong preference for experience with veterinary species
  • Knowledge and working experience handling antibody samples
  • Experience with cell killing assays
  • Experience with Incucyte live-cell real-time imaging system
  • Basic experience with Biacore SPR instrument
  • Ability to independently contribute from the bench
  • Ability to design and execute various cell-based assays and data analysis/interpretation
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Must be highly motivated. The ability to take direction and work simultaneously on multiple projects is essential.
