- Skill in entering data to software programs and in generating reports.
- Skill in records management.
- Skill in decision making and problem solving.
- Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public.

- Skill in working in conjunction with diverse groups within the department, college, community and state.
- Skill in public speaking.
Responsibilities
- Instructs program classes for GED preparation, including classes in reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies.
- Conducts student orientation.
- Develops curriculum; creates lesson plans; assesses student work.
- Participates in departmental planning, grant writing and performance reporting activities.
- Consults with community agencies in support of student success; meets with agency representatives.
- Administers tests and practice tests.
- Works with others to facilitate classes and workshops for students and community members.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
- Contacts truant students and/or their parents.
- Oversees individual student intake and enrollment process.
- Assist in general data collection and reporting processes.
- Advises and assists students in setting goals, preparing learning plans and enrolling in ACE classes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Coursework in basic skills instruction, learning disabilities of at-risk students, standards-based curriculum design and assessment theory.
