Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is required
- 2 years of relevant experience is required
- Experience with Microsoft Office products is required
- Successful completion of a background and credit check is required
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the selection, awarding, and renewal of endowed and current use scholarship funds
- Serve as direct liaison to various colleges and departments
- Process award revisions and packages financial aid in compliance with program criteria
- Transmit scholarship decisions and directives
- Assist in the operation of Scholarship Administration Office
- Analyze Scholarship Administration policies and procedures and make recommendations for updates, revisions, and enhancements
- Assist with training of college and department liaisons on the electronic process to notify SFA of their scholarships/awards
- Work with the Development Office and external donors in administering, verifying, and monitoring scholarships
- Maintain scholarship donor accounts via the scholarship database
- Maintain statistical data for reporting and research
- Research and troubleshoot scholarship administration issues
- Monitor processing of departmental scholarships/awards in the student information system (SIS)
- Counsel students, families and staff relative to financial aid program eligibility
- Develop, facilitate and coordinate presentations and seminars
- Work with colleges/departments to establish outreach methods
- Monitor and audit account balances
- Conduct funding projections
- Assist in preparing budgets
- Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the position
- Perform other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred
- Experienced in a university Student Financial Aid office
- Must possess the ability to work with faculty, staff and students of diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds
- Experience with various university databases and PeopleSoft is preferred
