Requirements
- Basic knowledge of contract administration principles, contracts and the application of contract administration including legal terms and conditions
- Ability to comprehend the applications of various types of insurance and taxes
- Ability to represent the Business and Eversource with assertive but tactful authority
- Ability to work with a matrix team of individuals having diverse disciplines and levels of experience relative to contract issues
- Ability to negotiate issues in a manner that achieves successful results
- Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn computer technology including Maximo, Word, Excel, Access PowerPoint or similar applications
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including formal presentations
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Excellent analytical skills
- Ability to initiate appropriate actions and to work independently
- Ability to maintain well organized and easily retrieved files
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Computer Science, Finance, related discipline or equivalent experience
- Three (3) to five (5) years of closely related contract administration is required
- Must have a valid driver’s license
Responsibilities
- Develops contract requirements relative to specific contracts, defines capital contractor performance expectations in conjunction with Project Management and Project Engineering, negotiates with vendors and monitors contract compliance
- Provides administration of contracts including review of rates, schedule of values etc.
- Works with Project Managers on contract strategy for managing risks and claims
- Participates on negotiating committees to establish contract structure, price, terms and conditions and other pertinent contract conditions
- Communicates and coordinates (is the primary interface) with project managers, project engineers, and other project team members, on contract, RFP, RFQ related matters
- Builds and maintains vendor relationships
- Establishes and executes a strong scope control process to contain out-of-scope charges
- Tracks errors, problems, reworks and aggressively pursues back charges and warranty claims
- Carefully monitors the contractor’s subcontracting process to reduce the chances for irregularities
- Monitors vendor payments, reducing occurrence of duplicate charges, charges not billable under contract, overpayment errors
- Periodically audits contractor invoices
- Assures good documentation of contract decisions, closeouts and appropriate filing of all documents
