Submarine Combat System Engineer

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience with DoD systems engineering
• Ability to learn and grow a combat weapons systems engineering skillset
• Ability to analyze and process engineering program documentation
• Ability to assess and update spend plans
• Ability to develop, document, and implement new processes
• Ability to analyze program risks and develop risk assessments
• Ability to be proactive and work independently and within a team environment
• Ability to travel to support the client approximately 1-3 times per year
• Secret clearance
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Computer Science

Responsibilities

• Apply the theories and principles of science and mathematics to research and develop economical solutions to technical problems
• Perform work that links fleet and programmatic needs and commercial applications
• Design products and build and manage parts and machinery requirements
• Improve the performance of products and take advantage of advances in technology
• Analyze the impact of the products developed or the systems designed on the environment and on the people using them
• Work in testing, production, or maintenance by supervising production in factories and labs
• Determine the causes of breakdowns and the testing of manufactured products to maintain quality
• Estimate the time and cost to complete projects

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with NAVSEA or Team Submarine
• Experience with U.S. Naval weapons systems processes and practices
• Experience with the Submarine Warfare Federated Tactical System (SWFTS) or BYG-1 submarine combat system
• International Council on Systems Engineering: Associate Systems Engineering Professional (INCOSE ASEP) certification
• Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) certification, such as SysML, MBSE, Agile MBSE, or OCSMP
• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification
