Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
  • 5+ Years Required; 7+ Years Preferred
  • 3+ years of experience working in investment/trading operations
  • 3+ years of experience supporting FX trading and/or Derivatives

Responsibilities

  • Oversee FX and derivatives trade management activity, identifying high-risk issues and resolving trade breaks through Nuveen’s strategic outsourced operations partners.
  • Oversee FX and derivatives trade processing, analytics, and reporting within proprietary derivatives risk and analytics platform, supporting investments and risk management teams.
  • Closely collaborate with Trading, Technology, and Operations to support strategic initiatives through business analysis, development, testing, and implementation.
  • Incorporate a risk management mindset, focused on identifying and mitigating operational risk through continued process improvement and enhanced operational controls. Develop standard operating procedures and remediation plans to address operational risk.
  • Oversee and support FX trading, hedging, and administrative operational activity for FX trading and investment teams. Partner with FX trading and investment teams to improve processes, data, and infrastructure used to support the monitoring, maintenance, and execution of FX mandates.
  • Responds and oversees routine and complex inquiries from clients, custodians, and brokers to ensure timely and accurate processing of transactions and resolve and research errors or requests that have been escalated.
  • Acts as a liaison and subject matter expert within the assigned business unit to front office, counterparties, vendors, & internal teams.
  • Demonstrates a risk and control mindset through adherence to compliance and regulatory requirements; ensures process and audit documentation is always current.
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvements that enhance efficiency and effectiveness across the trade operations lifecycle and deliver positive internal and external client impacts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 or more years of experience supporting derivatives trading
  • 3 or more years of experience in asset management
  • Experience with or strong understanding of various derivatives instruments across equity, fixed income, FX, and credit asset classes.
  • Strong knowledge of derivatives trade lifecycle and support across bilateral, listed, and cleared derivatives trading workflows.
  • Knowledge of order management systems and/or electronic trading systems to support derivatives and FX trading.
