Requirements
- High School completion / GED
- Medical Terminology
- 1 – 3 years of job-related experience
- Must have completed a course in medical terminology or be enrolled in a class at the present time
Responsibilities
- Preps, scans, and validates all types of paper documents into optical scanning system
- Scans & validates all loose reports sent to the department
- Analyzes medical records for deficiencies in chart documentation
- Responsible for release of information for continuity of care requests
- Assures that guidelines of HIPAA are followed
- Responsible for processing requests for government audit and specialized chart reviews
- Responsible for monitoring incomplete charts and follow up with physicians
- Responsible for following guidelines of JC and Conditions of Participations and all federal and state regulations
- Performs other duties as assigned and needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Preferred experience in Health Information or related medical field
- Knowledge of Word & Excel
