Requirements
- Graduation from a Cardiovascular / Ultrasound program or equivalent experience
- Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) as a RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, PE)
- Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) certification in Pediatrics by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
- Two years minimum pediatric echocardiography work experience in performing M-Mode, 2-D, 3-D, Doppler, and color Doppler
- Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, hemodynamics, and complex congenital heart disease, pre and post-operatively
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
Responsibilities
- Provide high quality echocardiograms for interpretation and diagnosis by a Pediatric Cardiologist
- Organize and prioritize patient exams
- Contribute to unit teamwork
- Perform clinical Pediatric Echo operations in the hospital and procedural setting
- Enter full preliminary reports
- Cover all MUSC Pediatric Echo Lab locations and shifts including call rotation
Preferred Qualifications
- Fetal Echocardiography (FE) certification preferred
- Associate of Arts/Science or a Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Fetal Echo and research experience preferred
- Echocardiography experience in the setting of Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Pediatric Cath Lab preferred
