Senior Instrumentation and Controls Specialist

Bachelor degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in engineering, testing, instrumentations and controls experience) + 5 years of experience in Engineering, Facilities Management, System Testing, and / or Instrumentation

Manage and improve site instrumentation and measurement techniques
Collaborate with other GE test facilities to share best practices, and identify opportunities to drive consistency, simplification, and efficiency across sites
Produce plans to ensure technical requirements, costs, and schedules are met
Set realistic and challenging goals for the support of test operations
Provide training and support to test design teams and operators
Interface with both internal and external organizations and supporting functions
Direct / coordinate the efforts of project team members in order to accomplish overall goals
Develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems
Coordinate, direct, and coach the activities of operational support requirements and team members
Provide input on other individual contributor performance, training, and development needs

Data Acquisition System (DAS) experience
Experience in defining, implementing, trouble-shooting instrumentation and/or maintenance of measurement chains
Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude (PLC’s, control systems)
Ability to influence others and lead small teams
Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously
