Technical Director – Rail & Transit Facilities

Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (or equivalent) is required
Typically 10 years or more of Related Experience
Demonstrated experience as a technical lead
Professional registration (RA) is required
Experience with design of rail transit maintenance facilities is essential
Proficiency in the application of architectural design standards, practices, techniques, and concepts
Proficiency in Revit and other PC software packages typically associated with architectural design is also required

Conducting architectural studies
Developing design concepts and design criteria
Preparing related reports
Concept design of urban rail transit maintenance facilities
Serve as the Technical Lead for this project, with heavy client interface and oversight on work and needs of the project
Review drawings, renderings, layouts, study models, construction documents, and color boards prepared by Architectural Designers
Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements
Provide technical consultations for interdisciplinary analytical studies and analyses
Write construction specifications and prepare detailed requisitions for equipment and materials
Interface with suppliers as required
Review supplier drawings and samples, and perform technical bid analyses
Coordinate work with engineering and construction units at project site
Review, approve, and issue detailed design and construction drawings and specifications prepared by others
Provide the seal and signature of a professional architect when required by statute or contract
Provide technical guidance to lower-level Architects and Architectural Designer/Drafters working on the same project
Prepare staffing estimates and execution plans
