Requirements

  • Experience balancing multiple projects, with an equal focus on creative and logistics.
  • Background in theme parks or equivalent entertainment environments, with a solid understanding of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) and Microsoft Office.
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment, promote collaboration, give direction, and lead a Crew effectively.
  • Demonstrated creative problem-solving abilities, continuous improvement process skills, and experience crafting and following agendas, facilitating meetings, addressing action items, and meeting deadlines.
  • Flexibility to work nights, holidays, weekends, and overtime, while supporting department and company programs and procedures, and reporting violations to management.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with event production team and other resort partners, create graphic and design elements for events and special projects by determining requirements, coordinating, planning, and partnering with appropriate teams, all supporting the Disney brand.
  • Produce creative renderings, create ground plans and scenic elevations for production.
  • Request and secure all assets required for event success, including stock assets, rentals, purchases, and initiating fabrication. Initiate and provide testing and documentation for fire permitting and structural safety.
  • Develop budget and track actuals, following up on variances for production teams.
  • Utilize processes, including our Inventory Data Base, for each event and overlay.
  • Input system updates to ensure production teams have relevant information before prep/execution phases.
  • Supervise and review event status, communicate and follow up with partners, warehouse, purchasing, fabrication teams, and vendors to ensure the event is prepped as planned.
  • Schedule crews and create timelines.
  • Coordinate with vendors or other clients/partners for delivery, pick-up, or installation of assets, following approved timelines and plans.
  • Attend rehearsals, truck loads, and on-site deliveries for load-ins.
  • Supervise and direct Art Crew Leads, Crew, and Vendors, providing creative direction during load-in to ensure the event is installed and accomplished as planned.
  • Supervise strikes and tear downs, following up on final returns of assets to Vendors and Scene Shops.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Desired proficiency in SketchUp, CADTools, and 3D Modeling.
  • Ability to understand technical information including ability to read basic technical drawings.
