Senior Mechanical Engineering

6 or more years of work experience in mechanical engineering.
Solid understanding of HVAC systems.
Solid understanding of compressible fluids such as natural gas, compressed air, steam and cryogenic systems like liquid nitrogen and carbon dioxide.
Detailed familiarity with mechanical design and analysis computer programs
Knowledge of life cycle cost and present worth analysis of mechanical systems.
A minimum of 2 years managing a team of mechanical engineers and designers in the production of contract documents for construction.
Experience designing building mechanical systems and campus-wide energy systems.
Experience designing specialty piping systems including water, high pressure water (fog), compressed air, natural gas, steam, liquid nitrogen, carbon dioxide, and hydraulic power fluids.

Organize and develop project design criteria and engineering work plans for projects of varying complexity.
Monitor progress of work and ensure that technical quality, interdisciplinary coordination, and production requirements are met.
Monitor performance against the project design schedule, budget and earned value.
Become completely familiar with and be able to edit mechanical sections of WDI master specifications.
Solicit peer reviews of work product.
Take responsibility for obtaining building department approvals when required.
Answer construction bid period questions and respond to and resolve field issues and questions.
