Software Engineer III

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
5+ years of experience as a software engineer developing with a focus on data engineering and backend development
Experience working on a full-stack software development team in an agile development (Scrum preferred) with at least 3 years with a focus on frontend development
In-depth frontend development with React or similar framework with TypeScript
Exposure to modern microservice-based software architectures (Java preferred) and containerized or serverless environments
Proven ability to learn quickly and develop creative solutions to complex problems
A passion for innovation, learning and sharing knowledge
Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Member of a full-stack software development team (Scrum)
Develop highly reliable software solutions that are used across Blue Origin
Participate in the development and maintenance of multi-tenant SaaS applications for new and existing capabilities
Actively participate in the different Scrum ceremonies as a team member
Contribute to standards and best practices and coach and mentor fellow and junior engineers
Deep dive into your users’ problems and partner with product managers to find and create efficient solutions

AWS Cloud Practitioner or Associate Certification
Backend development (REST APIs, asynchronous messaging) preferably in Java or Python
Experience working in public clouds (AWS preferred)
Expertise in debugging, profiling, and improving application performance
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Manufacturing and/or Aerospace experience
