Requirements
- 5-7+ years in finance, deal desk, legal, or sales operations, ideally in B2B software sales.
- Strong understanding of SaaS agreements, multi-element sales agreements, and deal desk best practices.
- Proficiency in Salesforce and Microsoft Excel.
- Multiple years of leadership experience, with a track record of building and mentoring high-performing teams.
- An ability to build relationships of trust across departments, generating buy-in and alignment when initiating change.
- Strong research and analytical capabilities, with an ability to generate creative solutions to a variety of business challenges.
- Enthusiasm for driving change and designing new systems, processes, and teams.
Responsibilities
- Holistically design the deal desk function – including deal strategies, negotiation levers, workflows, approval and escalation processes, etc.
- Manage daily deal desk operations, including evaluating and approving requests and providing strategic consultation to Account Executives during deal proposals.
- Serve as BambooHR’s subject matter expert on all things deal desk – partnering closely with sales leadership and Account Executives on complex or competitive deals.
- Act as a liaison between sales and finance to ensure alignment on deal strategies, assessing financial implications and revenue recognition for complex deals.
- Continually identify and implement process improvements to boost sales productivity and increase deal desk efficiency.
- Regularly prepare and present reporting on deal desk performance and key metrics.
- Build the deal desk team through hiring, training, and mentoring team members.
Preferred Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
- Experience in developing business cases and creating presentations for executive teams
- Proven track record of successfully building new teams and functions
- Exposure to a variety of company sizes, industries, and growth stages in past roles
- Ability to adapt to new company environments by designing solutions that address the unique needs of the business, while using past experience as a reference
