Requirements

  • Education as required to obtain state nursing license (LPN/LVN or RN)
  • Preferred a minimum of 3 years clinical leadership experience
  • Working knowledge of basic technology and electronic documentation
  • Ability to demonstrate appropriate judgment skills and independent clinical decisions in routine and emergency resident care matters
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and flexible hours when necessary to meet the needs of the residents
  • Excellent verbal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license: ability to travel to conduct resident assessments and required trainings for professional development
  • Must have current RN or LPN licensure in good standing

Responsibilities

  • Supports the mission, vision, and goals of the organization, upholding and promoting company culture and vision
  • Directly oversee the delivery of care to the residents of the community to ensure that emotional, physical, psychological and safety needs are met through all program services and activities
  • Coordinate, along with the Executive Director, family/resident care conferences and serve as a direct liaison between residents, families, and staff
  • Work with the residents, families, and other staff to ensure that residents are at appropriate levels of care
  • Manage labor costs, supplies and other line items in the clinical budget
  • Complete weekly, monthly reports as required
  • Monitor documentation systems to ensure that all regulatory timeframes for review of assessments and service plans are met and that resident needs are met
  • Write and review residents’ assessments/evaluations and care/service-plans with appropriate staff
  • Assess/evaluate potential residents for admission into the community and to determine level of care
  • Schedule and conduct new resident orientation for residents upon move into the community
  • Provide, plan, schedule and monitor staff training programs and in-services for staff including statutory or regulator required training
  • Attending all required training, in-service, and staff meetings
  • Manage and coordinate the work of all nursing department/clinical staff of the community, communicating pertinent resident health and safety information
  • Strive to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment, and the achievement of safe working practices
  • Ensure compliance with all state regulatory requirements including mandatory reporting to the State
  • Assist and/or perform mock surveys
  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor toward residents, visitors, families, and coworkers while adhering to all policies, standards, and procedures of the Company
  • Visits residents in hospital/rehab. as assigned
  • Organizes and communicates with leadership, residents, associates and families regarding annual flu clinics, TB testing of associates/residents
  • Participates in community Wellness Programs as assigned
  • Participates in MOD weekend and holiday coverage, as assigned
  • Member of the backup sales team
  • Participates in on-call schedule as assigned
  • Counsel residents in identifying and resolving social or other problems
  • Requires 24/7 on-call clinical support
  • Attends training courses at community and maintains up to date monthly, quarterly, annual training through designated Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Other duties as assigned, and which relate to the success of the community and the care, comfort, and happiness of our residents
