Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering in Mechanical, Chemical, or related engineering field
- 8 years of experience in power plant system/equipment engineering
- Experience as leader or active participant in LEAN continuous improvement Kaizen events, Standard Work development, or similar targeting Quality improvements
- Demonstrated track record of One-Team culture in cross-functional environment with many stakeholders.
Responsibilities

- Strengthen daily partnership with CMPD, Project Management/Engineering, Sourcing/Suppliers, Supplier Quality Engineering, and various Engineering peers in the execution of assigned projects.
- Drive accountability for Quality and on time Delivery of product / drawings, reports, and specifications. Ensure accurate and timely definition and preparation of system functional and operational requirements, engineering drawings, bills of material, and functional specifications.
- Drive LEAN continuous improvement and Innovation through development & validation of common tools/processes to advance standard work within Compressible Fluids Engineering.
- Improve harmonization across the portfolio to drive standard product, reduce cross-frame variability, and increase Sourcing leverage with the supply chain.
- Lead and execute engineering design and development consisting of a variety of engineering calculations and analyses, rigorous documentation of results, and implementation of design decisions into the product.
- Engage and contribute to ongoing continuous product and process quality improvement initiatives, including improving the maintainability, performance, compliance safety, cost, and reliability of designs through design practices, initiatives, and direct material productivity.
- Provide real-time engineering support to Manufacturing, Sourcing, Product Service, and other teams.
- Provide technical mentorship to engineers of all levels, to grow both breadth and depth across all systems and hardware.
- Provide regular reporting of Fluids Key Performance Indicators and proactively communicate risk. Partner with Fluids Leaders to mitigate risk and/or prioritize and inform stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Self-motivated and able to develop, document, and execute engineering assignments with limited supervision.
- Engineering design and validation experience in power plant equipment, such as gas turbine accessories or similar fluid systems
- Experience working with flow modeling software
- Experience working with mechanical modeling and stress analysis software
- Experience working with a global engineering team
- Ability to rapidly change directions for multiple concurrent projects based on emergent business priorities
- Ability to mentor less experienced engineers both locally and across a global team
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
- Effective communication skills, oral and written
