Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required
  • Registered ARRT or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist RCIS within 18 months of hire, or Registered Respiratory Therapist with CV Specific certification, required
  • Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP), required
  • ACLS and Surgical Technologist License with DORA obtained within 3 months of hire in state of Colorado, required
  • Bachelor’s Degree or RCIS Certification, required (for Invasive Cardiovascular Technician II)
  • Registered ARRT or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist RCIS is required or Registered Respiratory Therapist with CV specific certification or RCIS or RCES required (for Invasive Cardiovascular Technician II)
  • Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) and ACLS is required (for Invasive Cardiovascular Technician II)
  • Surgical Technologist License must be obtained within 3 months from hire date in the State of Colorado (for Invasive Cardiovascular Technician II)

Responsibilities

  • Provides technical support during invasive cardiovascular procedures. Provides patient care under the supervision of the RN.
  • Assists physicians in radiological imaging of cardiac and vascular procedures, acts as scrub assistant, maintaining sterile conditions during clinical procedures. Operates imaging equipment and works in the control room monitoring and documenting procedure images and events.
  • Educates patients and families regarding the procedure and about the expectations of the procedure. Teaches patient and family about pre and post procedure physical conditions.
  • Assists in maintaining order and cleanliness of the unit. Maintains appropriate stock levels for complex interventions and diagnostic procedures.
  • Completes daily, progress and discharge documentation according to departmental standards. Accurately documents productivity information.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associates degree, preferred
  • Two (2) years of experience in Cardiology/Cath Lab, preferred
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in Cardiology/Cath Lab, preferred
