Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Construction Management or Civil Engineering, and/or combination of related experience
- Registered with PEO as a P.Eng. or with OACETT as Road Construction Senior Inspector (rcsi)
- 10+ years of experience in construction inspection with MTO or municipal transportation projects
- Knowledge of the requirements of MTO’s Construction Administration and Inspection Specifications (CAIS)
- Knowledge of applicable design standards, OPS specifications, standard drawings, and quality control / quality assurance material testing methods
- Effective organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to utilize computer software such as MS Word and Excel
- Valid Class “G” driver’s license
- Ability to lift 25kg.
Responsibilities
- Conduct inspection as per applicable inspection requirements, such as MTO’s Construction Administration and Inspection Specifications (CAIS)
- Reporting of installed quantities to verify applications for monthly payment and change order work
- Maintaining detailed diaries and photographs to document daily construction activities
- Maintains office files related to the project, quantity calculations, and other documentation as required by the construction contract
- Verifying compliance with health and safety regulations and environmental regulations
- Coordination of onsite sub-consultants and quality assurance material testing.
