Requirements

  • A high school diploma
  • Able to pass a criminal history background check
  • Those recovering from a substance use disorder must be able to document continuous abstinence under independent living conditions or recovery housing for the immediate past two years
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor Certification (CADC I)- level I within 2 years of hire
  • Must possess, or have the ability to acquire, knowledge of symptoms and challenges faced by people with mental illness and addictions
  • Must have, or possess the ability to acquire, knowledge about relevant OAR’s
  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing and have the ability to work independently and complete all responsibilities in a thorough and timely fashion
  • Must have skills to professionally work with the public and the ability to coordinate services across various agencies and community groups
  • Must be able to develop cooperative and respectful relationships with clients and their families
  • Must have knowledge, or the ability to acquire know about the recovery model
  • Must possess the ability to represent the interest of the customer and the agency in a favorable light in the community
  • Must have the ability to work well with teams and other groups of individuals
  • Must be computer literate and have the ability to type and utilize word processing and other software programs/ systems
  • Must pass all criminal history check requirements as required by ORS 181.536-181.537 and in accordance with OAR 410-007-0200 through 410-007-0380
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license as well as personal auto insurance for privately owned vehicles utilized for CCS business
  • Must show proof of $300,000 or more liability coverage for bodily injury and $100,000 or more liability coverage for property damage and maintain said level of coverage for the duration of employment at CCS

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive anger management, batterer’s intervention assessments
  • Develop client-centered service plans
  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy
  • Conduct thorough discharge summaries and relapse prevention plans
  • Provide all other associated services to ensure the highest quality of treatment
  • Provide sex offender services as directed by CCS congruent with OAR’s
  • Where appropriate, provide Qualified Mental Health Associate (QMHA) activities if qualified to do so
  • Actively participate in joint case planning and coordination with agency employees
  • Act as a liaison between clients and other agencies
  • Act as a client advocate when appropriate
  • Actively participate in group and individual supervision sessions
  • Work with other staff and community representatives to initiate new programs, review, evaluate, and help revise existing programs as necessary
  • Complete all paperwork in a way that is professional, clinically sound and timely as prescribed by the OAR’s and other pertinent guidelines
  • Attend trainings, meetings, conferences, etc. as directed by administration and use the information gathered to benefit the agency and the customers
  • Utilize agency software/ computer systems to prepare current client records of treatment and reports as necessary and required
  • Administer forms for urinalysis testing (UA’s) provide accurate information on the UA’s to clients, in some cases observe the UA, and record all pertinent information
  • Must report all abuse to appropriate legal offices, complete all necessary paperwork and investigations, and develop safety plans as required
