Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • 10+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing, with at least 5 in leadership roles.
  • Strong background in cosmetics, personal care, pharmaceutical, or CPG industries.
  • Experience with GMP, FDA, and ISO standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage cross-functional engineering teams, including chemical, process improvement & packaging engineers, facilities, and project management personnel.
  • Recruit, train, and develop top engineering talent in alignment with company growth and operational needs.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration.
  • Oversee and improve industrialization, scale up and production processes for cosmetics and personal care products (e.g., mixing, filling, packaging).
  • Ensure process, formulations, equipment and systems support high-volume production with minimal downtime.
  • Lead process improvement, cost optimization, line efficiency improvements, and new technology implementation.
  • Partner with contract manufacturers to industrialize and test new formulations, packaging and products.
  • Develop and document test methods, processes and specifications, test methods as needed for existing and new products.
  • Plan and manage capital projects, including facility expansions, equipment upgrades, and production line installations.
  • Ensure equipment and systems comply with GMP, FDA, ISO, and other relevant standards.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Innovation, NPI, Tech, Quality Assurance and Operations to ensure products meet regulatory, safety, and customer requirements.
  • Support audits and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with FDA, OSHA, and environmental regulations.
  • Drive sustainability initiatives in manufacturing processes and facility operations.
  • Evaluate and introduce new technologies that support cleaner, faster, and more cost-effective production.
  • Partner with R&D, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain teams on product scale-up, formulation transfer, and production planning.
  • Support new product introductions and technology transfers from lab to production.
  • Develop and manage engineering budgets, timelines, and resource allocations.
  • Monitor project ROI, cost control, and performance metrics.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or MBA.
  • Experience with automation, robotics, and Industry 4.0 practices.
  • Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma certification.
