Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CPP, PSP, CHPA) preferred.
- 15+ years of experience in physical security, with at least 10 years in a senior leadership role overseeing global physical security operations.
- Proven track record in managing business continuity, event security, and executive protection for large, global organizations.
- Strong understanding of risk management, crisis management, and physical security technologies.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and executive leadership to design and implement security strategies that support business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a global physical security strategy that aligns with the company’s overall risk management goals and business objectives.
- Oversee all aspects of physical security, including facility security, access control, surveillance, and executive protection, ensuring consistency and standardization across all global operations.
- Provide leadership and strategic direction for the global security team, ensuring the proper allocation of resources, budgeting, and personnel management to meet security needs.
- Lead the design and execution of comprehensive business continuity and disaster recovery plans, ensuring that the organization is prepared to respond to and recover from any potential disruptions to operations.
- Coordinate with internal departments (e.g., IT, HR, Operations) to create integrated continuity plans that protect critical business functions and minimize downtime in the event of a security incident or crisis.
- Conduct regular risk assessments, business impact analyses, and simulations to test and refine business continuity strategies.
- Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of security for company-sponsored events, conferences, and large gatherings, ensuring the safety of attendees, staff, and high-profile stakeholders.
- Work closely with event planners, marketing, and external vendors to ensure that security protocols are seamlessly integrated into event logistics and planning.
- Develop and implement comprehensive security plans for large events, including crowd control, transportation coordination, emergency response plans, and VIP security.
- Lead the development and implementation of robust executive protection programs for senior leadership, including risk assessments, travel security, and secure transportation planning.
- Manage a dedicated executive protection team to ensure the safety of key company leaders, both in their professional and personal environments, including domestic and international travel.
- Provide real-time risk assessments and decision-making support for executives in high-risk environments, ensuring safety while maintaining operational efficiency.
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of security technologies such as video surveillance, access control systems, alarm systems, and emergency communication systems across all global facilities.
- Continuously evaluate and adopt emerging security technologies and strategies to stay ahead of evolving threats and enhance the security infrastructure.
- Ensure the integration of physical security technologies with other organizational systems to streamline security operations and improve incident response.
- Lead global threat assessments to identify and mitigate security risks related to physical security, executive protection, and business continuity.
- Collaborate with legal, compliance, and risk management teams to ensure alignment with company policies, local laws, and regulatory requirements for physical security operations.
- Provide regular security updates and threat intelligence to executive leadership to inform strategic decision-making.
- Lead the crisis management efforts during physical security incidents or business disruptions, coordinating with internal and external teams to ensure an effective and timely response.
- Manage the post-incident investigation process, ensuring thorough documentation and reporting of security breaches or incidents.
- Develop and lead regular tabletop exercises and training sessions for key staff on incident response protocols, ensuring readiness for any potential security threat.
- Collaborate with HR, facilities management, legal, compliance, IT, and other departments to ensure an integrated approach to physical security and business continuity planning.
- Serve as the primary liaison with law enforcement, government agencies, and private security providers to ensure that the company’s physical security posture meets industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Build and lead a high-performing global physical security team, ensuring team members are well-trained, engaged, and aligned with the company’s security goals.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging professional development and ongoing training for security personnel.
- Mentor and develop future leaders within the physical security function, ensuring a pipeline of talent for the organization.
