Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a finance or accounting role
  • Advanced Excel proficiency required, including XLOOKUP, SUMIF, Pivot Tables, and Power Query
  • Familiarity with SQL, VBA, and Oracle EPBCS is a strong plus
  • Working knowledge of GAAP and revenue recognition principles
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to recognize data anomalies, trends, and root causes across large, complex data sets
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to commute to both Melville, Long Island and Midtown, NYC offices as needed

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and distribute monthly, quarterly, and annual producer commission statements for 100+ producers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Coordinate, track, and escalate producer compensation inquiries, maintain organized documentation, process payments and related accounting entries
  • Learn and navigate the complexities and limitations of large internal datasets, applying sound judgment to interpret producer compensation data that may not always present clearly
  • Participate in efforts to standardize, automate, and improve compensation processes, templates, and data workflows
  • Assist with efforts to reconcile producer payable balances between internal systems, identifying and resolving discrepancies as needed
  • Assist with monthly close activities, including preparation and booking of regional allocation journal entries and revenue reporting
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial packages for one or more business units
  • Assist with the annual budget process and quarterly forecast updates, including data gathering and financial model support

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with SQL, VBA, and Oracle EPBCS is a strong plus
