Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of a High School diploma and pertinent work experience required.
  • Active Florida 6-20 Resident All Lines Adjuster License required.
  • 4+ years of first-party property claims adjusting experience required.
  • 2+ years of experience working directly for a carrier required.
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role and experience with all aspects of front-end claim and back-end claim handling including ADR, supplements and litigation required.
  • Vendor management and negotiation experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a pending inventory of catastrophe-related claims of varying degrees of complexity, while adhering to policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Evaluate, manage, and negotiate escalated, or disputed CAT claims to an acceptable resolution.
  • Address and resolve complex or high-value claims by applying expert insights and guidance.
  • Provide leadership to external resources during specified times of high-volume work to ensure operational efficiency and alignment with company objectives.
  • Appropriately apply knowledge of multiple state statutes, including the insurance code of ethics, rules, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Maintain exceptional customer service, especially during high-pressure events, while communicating effectively with clients throughout the claims process.
  • Thoroughly document all relevant claim information in the electronic claims management system.
  • Establish appropriate claim reserves according to the guidelines established.
  • Examine insurance policies, forms, and other records to determine coverage and liability.
  • Ensure adherence to state statutes, ethical guidelines, and company standards, at all times.
  • Prepare estimates of damage and loss amounts virtually with the assistance of fact and observation-based reports.
  • Negotiate and settle claims in accordance with Slide’s practices, guidelines, and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with external vendors, contractors, and service providers to expedite claim resolution.
  • Availability to work additional hours during CAT events as business needs arise.
  • Assist in training for new and existing team members.
  • Model ethical behavior and execute job responsibilities in accordance with Slide’s core values, ethics, and information protection policies.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Leadership experience preferred
  • Industry designations or certifications a plus.
  • Experience with Guidewire ClaimCenter a plus.
  • Xactimate proficiency a plus.
