Requirements
- Associates degree in human resources or related field, but experience and/or other training/certification may be substituted for the education.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field of study.
- Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS), SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certifications.
- 3-5 years’ experience; required.
- 3+ years of experience in human resources and/or benefits administration.
- Extensive knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational and time management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and employee/customer service orientation.
- Must be able to communicate effectively, including speaking, writing, listening and taking instruction.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workplace or similar software, data management, human resources information systems, email, calendars.
- Thorough understanding of all areas of information systems with a highly technical understanding of at least one commercial HRIS system.
Responsibilities
- Ensure accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information
- Create, update, and present new hire benefits orientation
- Perform quality checks on benefits-related data
- Assist employees regarding benefits claims issues and plan changes
- Distribute all benefits enrollment materials and determine eligibility
- Enroll employees with carriers and processes life status changes
- Manage wellness program and initiatives and all aspects of the health fair
- Respond to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries
- Process and administer all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA
- Manage the open enrollment process.
- Train managers on benefits and HRIS policies and procedures.
- Oversee and maintain optimal function of the HRIS, which may include installation, customization, development, maintenance, and upgrade to applications, systems, and modules
- Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and guidance to HRIS users
- Collaborate with leadership and HR staff to identify system improvements and enhancements; recommend and implement solutions
- Ensure system compliance with data security and privacy requirements
