Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in finance, accounting, or other related field and/or an equivalent formal education including the following job-related experience
  • Experience interpreting and applying generally accepted accounting methods and procedures
  • Experience in use of software such as: Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and/or Hyperion Planning or Hyperion Strategic Finance (HSF)
  • Extensive experience and/or training related to economic forecasting/modeling and planning and forecasting functions
  • Extensive experience and/or training related to energy industry economics and financial analysis functions
  • Extensive experience and/or training related to communication/interpersonal skills
  • Extensive experience and/or training related to commodity marketing
  • Extensive experience and/or training related to financial risk management
  • Extensive experience and/or training related to report writing
  • Experience researching, composing, reconciling, and preparing reports, studies, forecasts, financial models and correspondence applicable to position
  • Experience reading and analyzing financial statements and company and investor correspondence
  • Experience interacting, advising, and communicating effectively
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • 6 – 10 years related work experience with 5 of those years being direct experience
  • Experience managing and prioritizing multiple projects
  • Experience developing and presenting information to individuals and groups
  • Knowledge of areas related to finance and treasury
  • Ability to interpret and apply financial planning and analysis methods and procedures
  • Ability to apply math, algebra, and statistical methods
  • Ability to prioritize work load and deliverables
  • Ability to communicate and/or exchange information; conduct oral presentations and/or meetings

Responsibilities

  • Review, audit and discuss the results of financial models that simulate business activities for the purpose of forecasting trends including, but not limited to: Volume, Price, Spreads, Financial ratios
  • Review and analyze the explanations and documentation explaining validity of variances between plan, forecast and actual figures for accuracy
  • Design and maintain models that simulate forecasting trends including, but not limited to: Swaps, Cash, Capital structure and debt, Financial ratios, Liquidity
  • Review, audit and verify accuracy of calculations and/or analyses including, but not limited to: Forecasted verses actual expense, Projections/forecasts, Financial ratios, Investment opportunities, Working capital requirements, Rates of return, Financial statements, Industry specific financial schedules, Dividends and distributions, Corporate overhead expenses, Capital expenditures
  • Verify, review and audit financial information including, but not limited to: Financial reports, Board of Directors presentations, Investor presentations
  • Develop, analyze, audit and/or model operational, economic, forecasting, management and accounting data
  • Provide guidance, direction and support to direct reports
  • Monitor and ensure that financial details are accurate, provide timely and accurate information for management review and decisions
  • Provide information and guidance to employees from auditing firms, management, and others concerning planning, accounting processes, various financial reports, and forecasts
  • Evaluate current processes and make recommendations for enhancements
  • Where applicable responsible for the performance and development of employees in their organization
  • Provide expertise in the application of enterprise performance management software

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
