Requirements
- 1 – 2 years of experience within a customer service environment
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills
- Ability to relate well with others and establish strong working relationships
- Ability to handle conflict situations in a positive way
- Ability to accurately enter data on a handheld device or computer
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to organize, plan, and execute multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Requires computer data entry skills
- Must adhere to regular and predictable attendance
- Must be 18 years of age and have a valid driver’s license that meets the requirements
- Able to safely drive a variety of make/model/sizes of vehicles
- Requires standing for extended periods
Responsibilities
- Secure all gates and buildings and patrol the premises. Sound alarms and notify authorities in case of emergency.
- Verify only authorized individuals enter the property. Provide facility directions to customers, vendors and transporters.
- Check gate passes to ensure vehicles are authorized to exit property.
- Check departing vehicles to guard against theft of company property.
- Greet customers at the gate and provide prompt and courteous service. Resolve customer complaints in a friendly manner.
- When difficult situations arise, de-escalate situations to ensure we win with partners and collaborate on the forefront.
- Using a handheld device, input vehicle information including the VIN number, miles, owner identification, vehicle options, repair orders and any other pertinent information.
- Verify the VIN number being entered matches the VIN number on the shipper’s Bill of Lading.
- Watch and report irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes and doors left unsecured.
- Account for and identify all keys, codes or other safety and security information
- Maintain a current list of emergency and management telephone numbers
- Maintain good operating condition of all equipment and facilities, including handheld devices and printers. Notify management of all breakdowns and maintenance needs.
- Maintain a professional appearance and orderly work environment
- Practice and promote teamwork continuously. Set a good personal example of attitude and performance
- Maintain a good flow of communication with all auction team members and leaders
