Requirements
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of systems, hardware, software, and test engineers to develop advanced aerospace communications and interface solutions.
- Write and manage functional interface requirements and flow down to hardware, software, and test equipment groups.
- Define and document I/O signals and data paths, using modern, web-based tools to ensure traceability and consistency.
- Develop and execute interface verification plans, using both lab testing and simulation tools to ensure interoperability across all components.
- Troubleshoot interface and communication issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- Support technical reviews, design documentation, and interface control documents (ICDs) throughout the project lifecycle.
- Drive innovation in interface architectures and communication strategies to improve system performance and reliability.
- Work hands-on in system-level integration labs to integrate and validate power distribution systems, ensuring proper function and communication over serial data buses (e.g., ARINC, MIL-STD-1553, CAN, AFDX).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with requirements development
- Experience with design and verification of data communications electrical hardware. E.g. IEEE802.3 (ethernet) or CAN
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline
- Experience with decomposing system requirements to support Hardware and Software design teams.
- Designed at least one aircraft industry Communications standard such as ARINC 664, SAE AS6003, ARINC 825, ARINC 429, ARINC 629, or Mil-Std-1553B or equivalent.
- Familiarity with the Scaled AGILE Framework process using JIRA
- Experience using the requirements management tool “DOORS” and configuration management tool “Synergy”
- Experience with python, VBA, DXL, and XML
- Previous experience working with certifying authorities to comply with aviation data bus design assurance guidelines such as CRI-F66, CRI-F30, CM E-09 Edition 1, and AC20-156
- Previous experience troubleshooting labs using an oscilloscope and/or Time domain reflectometer.
- Understands signal integrity issue’s (ie transmission line theory)
