Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- Over 10 years of software engineering experience with at least 4 years of experience managing software teams
- Proven track record of managing high performance teams, delivering highly scalable engineering products and platforms
- Strong technical skills with ability to roll up the sleeves to code when needed
- Excellent system design skills with experience in designing distributed systems, microservices and high volume global transactional systems
- Experience collaborating with cross functional teams and strong ability handling conflicting priorities of business and engineering
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to communicate with the team and upwards
- Excellent project management skills to plan term goals, sprint deliverables. Provide visibility and transparency, tracking and driving team to success
- Results-driven, energetic and all action manager who creates a culture of innovation, self-drive, ownership and accountability
Responsibilities
- Lead the subscription engineering teams building our next gen subscriptions platform
- Collaborate closely with product and other cross-functional partners to define product roadmap, tech strategy, and goals
- Set up and improve engineering practices, set a high bar for engineering efficiency, and constantly improve the team
- Understand and balance team’s goals between business deliverables, short term and long term engineering needs
- Hire, mentor, and grow a diverse and high-performing engineering team that prides in delivering high quality business deliverables
- Communicate effectively with engineers, engineering leaders, and cross-functional partners, contributing to Quizlet’s overall success
