Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in tax/accounting.
- 5+ years of experience with US Indirect Tax reporting, including sales and use, personal property, gross receipts, and business tax.
- Proficiency in Advanced Excel, Alteryx, or similar database tools for manipulating large data sets.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with internal stakeholders, external advisors, and government agencies.
- Excellent organization and prioritization skills to manage multiple deliverables.
- Strong analytical skills with innovative problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with systems such as Oracle and Vertex, and tax reporting processes requiring data collation from multiple systems.
Responsibilities
- Manage indirect tax controversies, including audit defense and voluntary disclosure agreements.
- Contribute to cost savings initiatives through reverse audits and refund reviews.
- Assist with research, state tax nexus determinations, taxability analyses, and quantification of potential sales and use/indirect tax exposures.
- Provide support and analysis on various indirect tax questions.
- Oversee acquisition integrations to ensure compliance with indirect tax processes.
- Develop, document, and implement policies and procedures related to indirect tax.
- Identify technology tools and processes for indirect tax automation to reduce manual work and enhance compliance efficiency.
- Manage product taxability configurations and system enablement, including nexus settings and product mappings.
- Provide guidance to junior staff and support the Assistant Director, Indirect Tax, on all related matters.
