Requirements

  • Seven years of management experience; OR four years of management experience and a bachelor’s degree in related field.

Responsibilities

  • Lead efforts to advance the agency’s strategic goal of eliminating health inequities in Oregon by 2030.
  • Develop and implement goals, long-term objectives, policies, protocols, budgets, and programs to eliminate health inequities in OHA’s priority populations.
  • Establish and maintain broad, collaborative working relationships with OHA divisions, federal and state agencies, the community, Oregon’s Nine Federally Recognized Tribes, policy makers, advocates, health care providers, and leaders in the health delivery system.
  • Ensure that values around health equity, anti-racism, data equity, and accessibility are embedded into statewide legislation, programs, and services.
  • Effectively leverage resources, initiatives, and ideas to maintain or expand existing programs and develop new strategies to eliminate health inequities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree preferred in Public Health, Human Services, Social Work, Behavioral or Social Sciences, or related fields, with training in social justice, diversity, equity, and policy development.
  • Proven experience leading equity-centered work, dismantling institutional barriers, and creating inclusive frameworks that address the needs of priority populations.
  • Strong relationships with Oregon’s community leaders, with demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse and priority populations.
  • Ability to foster inclusive, supportive environments, bridge differing perspectives, and cultivate team cohesion through psychological safety.
  • Extensive experience developing, implementing, and evaluating policies and programs aimed at eliminating health inequities and advancing health equity.
  • Advanced skills in conflict resolution, restorative justice practices, and guiding courageous conversations to achieve systemic transformation.
  • Expertise in culturally sensitive crisis response, utilizing de-escalation techniques, active listening, and clear communication.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence partners advocate for policy change, and present complex ideas effectively.
