Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum 5 years of experience analyzing and underwriting loans for business/commercial clients.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the evaluation and underwriting of Business Banking Conventional/Healthcare/SBA/USDA loan applications to determine credit worthiness and compliance to Huntington lending and SBA/USDA policies.
- Identifies, implements, and leads innovative solutions focused on end-to-end ownership of the colleague and/or customer experience through all phases of underwriting and loan closing.
- Effectively communicates and acts as a liaison to internal customers to resolve business lending issues.
- Partners across divisional leaders and stakeholders to understand issues, navigating through grey areas and proposing solutions, driving consensus and decision making.
- Improve ability to render decisions in a timely manner.
- Maintains knowledge of Huntington lending policies, risk rating requirements and compliance standards.
- Provides guidance and lends expertise regarding sound lending practices and managing credit risk.
- Ensures design promotes adherence to bank policies and procedures and complies with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Creates culture of introducing new ideas and fostering change – leverages change management methodologies for greatest segment impact.
- Accountable for risk management, compliance and audit performance for area(s) of responsibility whether a supervisor, manager or individual contributor.
- Establishes or works with management to develop effective controls and processes to ensure risks are measured, monitored and controlled and compliance requirements are adhered to on an ongoing basis.
- Maintains current knowledge of risk-related changes that may impact assigned area(s) of responsibility.
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal credit training preferred.
- Strong leadership, highly motivated, focused and goal oriented. Able to lead via influence rather than direct management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including professional grammar and demeanor.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, planning and follow-up, while managing projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to build and expand quality internal and external customer relationships, with the ability to manage varying personalities.
