Requirements

  • Applicable working knowledge of computers, software, and technology. Skills in operations of a PC with internet/intranet, operating systems, donor databases word processing, spreadsheets, presentation and graphics software, design, multi-media, video, and websites.
  • Strong knowledge and ability to use digital tools and resources to accomplish tasks and organize activities.
  • Working knowledge of consumer financial services industry.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and implementation of the community engagement calendar of events, sponsorships, and event deliverables.
  • Lead planning, implementation and reporting of both internal and external community engagement programs and events. Internal events and programs may include Holiday Program, Shred-A-Thons, Day of Impact, and other programs as assigned.
  • Track and evaluate community programs and event outcomes. This includes maintaining and/or developing effective reporting tools, such as Smartsheet and Excel and providing and evaluating detailed reports of program results.
  • Partner with Branch Managers, Business Development Officers, Communications and Marketing team members to develop strategic recommendations for market-specific, community engagement programs, which result in community impact, and visibility and growth for RCU.
  • Identify, coordinate, and prep RCU team members to attend community events.
  • Support processing of external sponsorship requests.
  • Help to communicate, motivate, and enlist team captains, volunteers, and others to ensure quality events and engagement by the organization and team members.
  • Ensure regular and compelling communication with team members regarding volunteer and community event opportunities. This may include internal communications via email, digital signage, intranet, newsletters, etc.
  • Maintain established relationships with community organizations, nonprofits, Chambers, businesses and community partners as directed by Manager.
  • Work together with RCU’s marketing and public relations/ communications staff to ensure effective storytelling and amplification of RCU’s efforts in our communities.
  • Plan, implement, and communicate community recognition program for team members, volunteers, etc.
  • Professionally represent RCU in the community at events.
  • Manage event invitations with the Executive Office to ensure smooth participation and communication with the Board, Officials and Senior Leadership.
  • With diplomacy and trust, develop and maintain partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Model cultural competency in our communities and in response to important social issues.
  • Provide regular program updates, reports, and recommendations, in relation to community opportunities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A combination of education or experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in community relations, public relations/affairs, business or related field.
  • A minimum of five years of specific job-related experience including nonprofit or community programs, management, event and project management, and relationship building.
